❇️ If you are looking for a Passover Seder lesson that draws the connection between the traditional Passover Seder and the Last Supper Jesus ate with His disciples on the night of His arrest ~ you are in the right place!
✝️This lesson takes the most applicable portions from the Jewish Haggadah and weaves in key portions of the gospel accounts where Jesus’ final Passover meal is mentioned and described. By the end, your students will see that Jesus is foreshadowed throughout the meal from the broken matzo to the four glasses of wine! This lesson is ideal for almost any age group, elementary children through adult ~ in fact, a mixture of ages is ideal!
In an easy to understand, conversational style, this lesson enables the teacher or parent to engage with those gathered around the table in identifying and discussing the importance of traditional Passover meal components including dipping matzo (flatbread) in maror (horseradish), hiding the afikomen (matzo), identifying the ten plagues (each represented by a drop of juice on a white napkin) and much more!
❇️This is a great event for your classroom or church as students are actively engaged with all five of their senses. It is also quite appropriate for a family meal, homeschooling event, youth group meeting or women’s Bible study.
⏰️ Total time: 1 to 1 ½ hours but if you wish to serve a full meal add another hour minimum.
✔️ Included in this colorful lesson are:
1. Detailed preparation instructions:
A shopping list of foods needed for the meal [Note: A full Passover meal is not required for the full effect of this lesson. In fact, a few low-prep items are all that is needed.]
Specific items that each student will need at his or her individual place setting
How to set the rest of the table, including additional items that the leader will need
2. A twelve-page lesson that is written conversationally so that it can be read out loud by the leader
3. Three page “Participants Outline” which invites guests to participate by reading aloud the Hebrew blessings and applicable Old and New Testament scripture passages
4. One page Responsive Reading of Psalm 118
