Discovery: Holy Spirit - 3 Experiments Using Everyday Objects
Save time and shop with confidence! Watch the lesson preview video here.
❇️ The study of the Holy Spirit is such an important undertaking for believers of all ages, but most especially for children who may be exposed to “forces”, “ghosts” and “spirits” in their gaming worlds. It is just a small leap for them to assume that the Holy Spirit acts and functions like the spirits in their imaginary worlds.
This lesson, written specifically for students in grades 4-8 will give them a “reality check” … in a fun, interactive way!
✴️ It is IMPORTANT that you read the definition of the Holy Spirit below (the launching point for the discussion and experimentation) so that you know what you are purchasing✴️
The Holy Spirit is an unseen member of the Trinity (the 3-in-1) that powerfully indwells God’s people and seals their salvation. The Holy Spirit purposes to make us more like Christ as He counsels, comforts and convicts.
❇️ This lesson showcases three experiments that will draw out the meanings of each of the bold words in our definition:
⭐️ Rushing Winds [unseen member]: Using a blow dryer and a ping pong ball, this experiment show students that while the Holy Spirit is unseen the third person of the Trinity is powerful, yet He is not a “force”: a neutral, impersonal energy field that can be manipulated.
⭐️ Fill ‘Em Up! [indwells]: The Holy Spirit indwells and inhabits each believer individually and doesn’t just “settle” in the midst of a group of believers. Just like a sponge we can either soak it up (expanding the work of the Holy Spirit in our life) or let it become dry and rigid (quenching the Holy Spirit). You will demonstrate with an extremely dry sponge and a bucket of water so that your students can soak in this important reminder!
⭐️ Paid in Full [seals salvation]: All three members of the Trinity are involved in our salvation. The role of the Holy Spirit is to seal us and assure us that we are heaven bound. We will use an envelope to seal the deal!
