Incredible!! A really fantastic lesson to help students see the intrinsic value of human life. The auction was such a fun activity. My students had a lot of fun with that and didn't even realize they were learning. A really phenomenal activity.

How do your students measure their worth? This engaging, hands-on Bible LESSON and SLIDES BUNDLE teaches students that their true value is determined by the price paid for us: Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Through an exciting classroom auction, and with the help of a catchy jingle "the worth of a thing is the price it will bring", students explore decision-making, cost analysis, and ultimately this biblical truth: they have immeasurable value in God’s eyes. This lesson is also a great introduction to the story of Jacob and Esau (who so devalued his birthright that he sold it for a bowl of stew). ♨️
✳️Auction Experience
Students receive $120 in auction bucks and bid on 20 visually appealing, full-color auction items—from thrilling experiences like a helicopter ride over New York City to coveted prizes like smartphones, jet skis, and an adorable Golden Retriever puppy. Alongside these high-value items, seemingly insignificant options like a bowl of soup or colored pencils serve a deeper purpose in the post-auction discussion.
✳️Key Learning Moments:
✔️ How Auctions Work – Students strategize on when to bid, when to pass, and when to go all-in.
✔️ Interactive Auction – With each item purchased, students track bids on their student worksheet, noting its selling price and revealed value.
✔️ Biblical Connection – After the auction, students reflect on the story of Esau, who sold his birthright for a bowl of soup, and connect it to their own worth in Christ. They will grasp the life-changing truth that the price paid for them was the death of Jesus—proving their immeasurable value.
