The Bible wasn’t meant to stay words on a page. Neither should your curriculum.

Open Bible with bread rolls, a golden chalice, a scroll, a dove, a crown of thorns, and shepherd's crook emerging from the pages, with a dark blue background and glowing sparkles.

When the Bible is taught only with worksheets, the lessons become like the paper they’re printed on: flat and forgettable.

As a result, the Bible ends up being something they “learned about as a kid”, instead of the living, active Word of God they appreciate into adulthood.

Experiencing the Bible Creatively equips you to teach the Bible with what you know it can have: powerful, effective, life-changing impact.

Whether you’re looking for homeschool Bible curriculum, Christian school classroom curriculum, Vacation Bible School (VBS), or kids Bible study content, we’re here to help your students experience the Bible creatively.

The curriculum

“Walking Alongside Jesus”

Four footprints with different labels: 'The Rock', 'The I AM', 'True Friend', and 'The Presence' on a white background with gray and black shading.

Jesus Christ is present in ALL of Scripture. He is the main character and to whom the Bible points.

Each piece of curriculum in our extensive “Walking Alongside Jesus” Old Testament series is based on a simple conversation that the resurrected Jesus had as he was walking alongside two travelers who did not recognize Him initially.

We are told in Luke 24:27 that “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”

This curriculum series endeavors to imagine what Jesus might have said about Himself through all the major stories of the Old Testament which is why each lesson in this series ends with the same question:

What did I learn about Jesus today?

Each lesson stands alone but when used in conjunction with other lessons in the series gives students a fuller picture of how Jesus is foreshadowed in many of the major people, stories and events of the Old Testament.

No matter which lessons you choose, we recommend that you start with the very first lesson “Road to Emmaus” which provides a good starting point for the journey.

Note: Curriculum lessons reference the English Standard Version (ESV)

Hi, I’m Becky.

At the start of my 25+ years of teaching in Christian education, I was frustrated by the lack of two main things:

  • engaging resources to teach the Bible

  • a curriculum focused on recognizing Jesus throughout the Old Testament.

I wanted my students to experience the Bible in a memorable way so they could grow into lifelong followers of Jesus.

That’s why I began creating a Bible-based, Jesus-centered curriculum that integrated props and hands-on experiences.

Experience the Bible Creatively is the culmination of decades of tried-and-true lessons that have engaged the senses and settled in the hearts of thousands of students.
